He's gotten quite used to the Nexus hospital.

It's been several days since Rassilon came out of his coma and while the bruises have gone down and there are mutterings of unwiring his jaws, soon, he's spent most of this time asleep or trying to move his fingers.

He has, at least, had visitors, as well as Kiam's constant presence. However, he would occasionally prevail on her to--for the love of small things!--go and get some food or some sleep in something other than a chair. There were doctors and Doctors in and out of the place at all hours of the night, which didn't bother him, as they either made sure he was progressing or brought him amusing things. ("It's the cutest cold in the universe!" Ten had fairly squeebled.)

Most of the time he simply lay there, staring at the ceiling, idly listening to the minds and voices around him and wondering if it'd be worth it to advance time around himself a few months just to be out of there.

Lo and behold, who appears but his partner in words. As usual, he has a couple of books under his arm and a tall cup with a lid on. Tea, most likely as this one is an Englishman through and through.

When he speaks, it's quiet and low, voice touched with it's usual soft gravel. "Hullo, Rassilon."

Smile.

There's a wan smile in response, but the reply sounds in Gabriel's mind.

Hullo, Gabriel. It was pureed somethingorother day to-day. As it always is when your jaws are wired shut. Not as bad as yesterday's whatnot.

"Aye, that shite they shove through the tubes is never a tasty mix." Gabe remembers the stuff he never really tasted, tube in his nose and down his throat. Bleh.

"Did they say how long it'll take before they can remove the wiring?" He opens a book--Monstrous Regiment by Terry Pratchett--and tries to remember where he was.

Another week. I might cheat that, though, as I'm not looking forward to liquefied wossname.

The room seems to have been filled with pictures, flowers, and various odd objects.

"Mmm. I would've if I could've, as well. Just so it isn't detrimental to the healing process, eh?"

Gabriel has noted this.

"Looks like you've a great many people pulling for you." A smile in his voice.

The jaw at least seems to be progressing normally. It's most everything else they're worried about. A slight frown. Though I've at least got feeling back. That's something. The fingers of his right hand curl slowly but noticably. It's the most he's been able to make them move so far.

Mostly the Doctors and Kiam. And yourself. All determined to keep things in here as cheerful as possible, given the nature of the accomodations.

"A hospital isn't a very cheery place, by nature." He shifts in the chair--also uncomfortable by nature--and muses aloud.

"Why not ask if you can be moved back to New Gallifrey? Or do you have the facilities?"

I would, but Kiam prefers to avoid the station for now. Something about being afraid she'll run into herself from twenty years hence and not liking what she sees. And I doubt I or anyone else'd be more comfortable there. A wry smile, no less so for its being directed at the ceiling. Medical establishments don't seem to differ much between here and there.

"Ah. I can see your point. I was thinking of... hm. Other people you might not otherwise run into." But he sounds satisfied with the answer.

"You'll be happy to know you've missed quite the uproar, Nexuswise." Gabriel goes on to describe the possessed robot-babies, especially Kurt and Savannah's.

There's a bit of wan laughter at that. That explains why the Doctors have disappeared.

"Mmm well. I haven't been at the school much, so I missed most of it as well. As it is, I'm back and forth. But they seem to be handling it quite well."

From Gabriel's limited POV, anyway. Even with all the uproar, it's not the heaviest weight on his mind. Other things are bothering him.

"Although I did feel a bit strange when I saw they had a child--before I knew it was a school project."
